The Idea of Mavens to HR

Borrowing the exerpts from Malcolm Gladwell’s The Tipping Point, I see the mavens exist not only in the marketplace of goods, but also that of people.

P60-61:
“The word Maven comes from the Yiddish, and it means one who accumulates knowledge”
“… if a store tried to pull the sales stunt too often, these are the people who would figure it out and complain to management and tell their friends and acquaintances to avodid the store. These are the people who keep the marketplac ehonest… one name fo them is “price vigilantes, or market mavens”
“These people like to initiat e discussions with consumers and respond to requests”

The book, itself, alludes to the renaissance of “social network,” which we really experience nowadays.
